Peerko Street – Review

Peerko Street – an ideal mixture of sneakers and elegant shoes. This trendy shoe, perfect for both men and women is a new addition to Peerko leather shoes featuring their characteristic “walled” sole and high-quality leather upper.

Four new models joined the very popular Peerko Classic model this spring – Street, Mood, Celebrate and Smart. Despite having the same base, Peerko, with the design of the upper, made sure that each of them is something special and different. Whether it’s laces, a choice of leather and colors, or added special details. In this review, you will learn all the details about the new Peerko Street model.

2. Material characteristics

2.1 Upper

The Street model is made of thicker suede leather and is available in four different colors. You can choose between the more neutral colors like Shadow and Navy, which are suitable for both sexes, or more vibrant colors like the turquoise color Azure or this bright pink color, which I review here.

The shoes have added contrasting details in white on the sides of the shoe and on the heel. White colors are also thin round laces.

An additional leather trim is added in the toe area, which optically narrows the shoe and gives it a more sporty look.

The sole is sewn and glued to the upper part of the shoe. The heel is reinforced with an additional layer of leather.

2.2 Lining

The shoes are fully lined with leather. The insole is not removable. A characteristic Peerko feather is printed in the heel area.

2.3 Sole

The sole is the same as in other Peerko models and is made of recycled thermoplastic rubber. It is 3.5 mm thick with a 1.5 mm profile. The total thickness of the sole is approx. 6 mm, which gives you a good ground feeling, but with a little cushion.

The side edge makes the sole optically thicker, but the sole is thin and nicely flexible in all directions.

Also check the video for the close-up and to see how they look on the feet.

3. Sizing information

3.1 Length

The shoes are available in sizes 37 to 45, but only in certain colors. This pink color is only available up to size 43. The inner length of the shoe corresponds to the value in the size chart.

The length of my foot is 26.3 cm and as in other Peerko models, I wear a size 42 here too. The shoes are 12mm longer than my foot and this is also the length I prefer. In this way, I ensure enough space in the shoe even with socks, allow the toes to spread to the side and in length, and avoid lack of space due to the imperfect matching of the shoe shape with my foot shape.

See post How much space do we need in shoes if you want to know more about that.

3.2. Toebox shape & width

The toebox shape the of Peerko shoes is most suitable for foot type 2, 4 and 5. With type 1, a little more space can be left in front of the smaller toes. How disturbing this is also depends on the width of the foot. With distinctly square foot shapes, you may run out of space in front of the smaller toes.

More about different foot types you can read in post What is my Foot Type?

The line at the big toe is nicely straight to the end, there is a lot of space above the toes too. In the middle of the shoe, just before the laces start, my foot is missing some volume so you may notice a slight creasing, which is not bothersome while walking.

The Steet model is best suited for medium-wide and wide feet but not extremely wide. With this model, I notice a little less space in width than with the Classic model, although the width of the sole is identical. There is still enough space for my 10 cm wide foot. A bigger change can be felt by those who had just enough width in Classic model.

3.3. Fit around the instep, heel and ankle

The Street model fits very well to different heights of the instep and foot volumes, but if your foot is narrower and with less volume you will need to tie the laces very tightly. You may also notice gapping around the ankles.

4. Comfort

The shoes are very comfortable to wear from the first moment I put them on and I never had any problems walking in them. The leather is soft and comfortable on the foot.

5. How and when to wear them?

I like to pair a color as strong as this fuchsia color with more neutral clothes such as classic blue jeans and a white T-shirt. With less vibrant Street model colors, you can also afford to add a little more color to your clothes.

6. Price & where to buy

You can buy Peerko shoes on the official website, but you can also find them at various sellers. The full price for the Peerko Street model is 107,31 € up to size 41 and 111,16 € from size 42 onwards.

My readers from US/Canada can buy them at PedTerra (10% off on your first order at PedTerra with BOSENOGICE)

7. Shipping info

Shipping costs depend on the shipping country and where you are ordering from, so I recommend you to check their websites for that info.

8. To sum up

I really love this brand and again this time Peerko did not disappoint. Street model with its more youthful design will surely attract the younger generation as well. This strong pink color may not be for everyone, but Peerko also offers you more neutral colors to choose from. I really like strong and vibrant colors, so I’m really happy that this color was on the color palette for this model. It is my top pick.
