Feelgrounds keep surprising us with fascinating new styles. Their Highrise model is another incredible cool unisex sneaker from this amazing brand led by a wonderful young team. I’m sure those shoes won’t leave anyone indifferent.

Highrise model is just another story of success from Feelgrounds. These shoes instantly stole my heart and they immediately become the shoes that I recommend to all of my friends.

I’m also extremely grateful to Feelgrounds for asking me to test and review these shoes. It was a real pleasure to write a review for them.

Disclaimer: Feelgrounds sent these shoes to me for review, but as always, all opinions expressed here are my own. I want to give you an honest review, regardless if the product was sent to me to for free or I decided to buy them by my own. I’m also proud to be a Feelgrounds affiliate and I may receive small commission if you make a purchase through the links on my website.

1. General

  • Brand: Feelgrounds
  • Model: Highrise
  • Colour: Cloud Gray
  • Tested on: woman, medium-wide feet, 26,3 cm long and 10 cm wide, low instep, skinny ankles

2. Material characteristics

2.1 Upper

Feelgrounds Highrise model is available in six different colours and I decided to choose Cloud Grey colour as it suits my style the most.

The upper is made from water-repellent knit fabric made from recycled PET bottles.

I usually avoid shoes made from recycled PET materials as they can make my foot sweat, but Feelgrounds proved me wrong here. They always amaze me with the softness and breathability of the materials they use. I already loved their Original model, but I love this material even more.

The laces are made from 100% recycled PET too and are in the matching colour with the upper.

The collar is padded. This makes them super comfortable around the ankles and it also makes them look more special too.

At the back of the shoe there is a strap with Feelgrounds brand name on it. In some colours the brand name stands out a little bit more, but in Cloud Grey colour the name is blended with the colour of the upper.

2.2 Lining

Shoes have no extra lining or insole in them. At the heel part inside the shoe there is just Feelgrounds brand name on it.

For cleaning Feelgrounds recommend using a dry, soft shoe brush for removing dirt and soiling. Because of the water-repellent treatment, the shoes are not machine washable as their Original model.

Shoes are treated with wax (paraffin) and silicon (PFC, PFOA, and PFOS free) for water-repellence. I tested the shoes in the sink of water and they hold the water out of the shoe for 40 seconds. Considering that they are made from knit material, this is a good result. I don’t plan to wear these shoes for walking in puddles.

2.3 Sole

Outsole is made from slip-resistant recyclable ‘special footwear TPE’. The same sole that is used in their Original model.

With their 5 mm thickness it gives me wonderful ground feeling. It is just perfectly squishy and with a right amount of protection. When you can see your footprint on the sole, you know that the sole work wonderful with your feet.

You would probably think that the shoes like this are more compact and harder to roll, but they are really light, soft and you can roll them in any direction you want.

You can roll them also in the longitudinal direction with no problem.

3. Sizing information

3.1 Length

Feelgrounds Highrise shoes are available in sizes 36-49 and are appropriate for men and women (unisex model).

With Highrise model I wear the same size as in my Original model, this is a size 42. Shoes are true to size and the inside length of size 42 is 27,1 cm. My feet are 26,3 cm long and 10 cm wide.

The upper is really soft and I have plenty of space in them. They feel even more spacious than their Original model, which I reviewed here.

For those who don’t know which size to get, you can use their printable size guide (be careful to print it out in the right scale). According to their size guide, the perfect size for me is size 42 (in size 41 I’m left with only 2 mm space in front of my toes, which is not ok).

3.2. Toebox shape & width

Feelgrounds shoes have a good foot-shaped toebox which just slightly tapers at the end. This doesn’t bother me as the width is perfect for my medium-wide feet.

Highrise model feel even more spacious in the toebox than Original model which I reviewed here, although they look completely the same from the outside. I don’t know how to explain, but the feeling inside the shoe is different.

Highrise model suit well to various foot widths. They fit great also to those with narrow feet, but those with really wide feet will probably find them too narrow.

3.3. Fit around the instep, heel and ankle

Highrise model suit well to my shallow feet and skinny ankles. The laces don’t look tight too much as in some other brands I tried. I would say just right.

Even if your feet are narrow you can tight them enough with the laces to prevent foot slipping.

Highrise model fit well on shallow feet and also on normal height instep. But those with high instep and wider heels can find them a little bit snug in that area (especially men).

3.4 Comfort

Shoes are extremely comfortable to wear. I feel light as a feather when I wear them. They are super comfortable from the moment you put them on.

4. How to wear them?

Highrise are the shoes that really suit my style. I’m skinny and tall and this is the style that I just love to wear.

For me the best way is to pair them with my skinny jeans or leggings.

But you can wear them with a skirt or shorts for more summer look too.

5. Price & where to buy

Feelgrounds shoes can be bought from their official website. Full price for Highrise model is 139€.

6. Shipping info

Feelgrounds ship their shoes worldwide for free and they arrive in 2-5 business days for Europe and 3-9 business days for the rest of the world.

7. Where are they made?

Feelgrounds goal is to ‘use mainly recycled materials’ and their shoes are produced in Vietnam under fair working conditions. They want to ‘treat anyone involved in Feelgrounds™ well’. All their shoes are also animal-free and eco-friendly.

8. To sum up

Highrise are another wonderful shoes from Feelgrounds. They instantly became one of my favourite shoes I have. I usually just grab those out of the closet when I need to go somewhere.

I enthused all my family and friends about Feelgrounds and this is definitely the brand that suit my feet and also my style really well. I hope you will like them as much as I do too.
