Kids and winter barefoot shoes can be a tricky combination. If only a few good winter barefoot shoes were available for our kids last year, this season is much more optimistic.

Bobux

The Bobux shoes from their new winter collection are made from high quality leather. Their winter boots Aspen and Shire and a low shoe Explorer Arctic are lined with a Merino fleece. Aspen boots have a waterproof membrane and are slightly less flexible than those without a membrane. But as with all Bobux shoes, they get softer with use.

If you are looking for a thin and flexible sole, you should be aware that not all of the Bobux shoes have a thin, flexible sole. Especially bigger sizes, where the sole is a little bit thicker and less flexible than in smaller sizes. But their shoes are zero drop and with a good toebox.

Available in lot of beautiful colours in sizes 18-33. Best suited to kids with narrow-medium wide feet.

Bundgaard

There is not a lot of great barefoot snow boot options for kids at the moment. Therefore I decide to include this Bundgaard sailor rubber warm boots on my list too. They can be a great barefoot-friendy option for kids in winter. This rubber boots have a fantastic toebox, they are completely waterproof, lined with mixure of wool and dacron and your kids can wear them up to -15 degrees celsius. At the top they have a pull on closure and they are available in tall and short version.

What makes them less barefoot than the rest of the shoes is that they have a 2 mm heel rise (but this is really not a lot), they are a little bit heavier (but there is also short version which is lighter) and they have a stiff insole, which I definitely recommed to remove and put some felt insole in them.

Appropriate for normal and wide feet.

Thanks for the review. It was very helpfull. I have a couple of questions, maybe you could help. My kid has a wide forefoot, quare shaped form, high instep, prominent big toe, and normal/ narrow heels. He loves the old Luosma 2 from Feelmax as it is ultra flexibel and minimalistic, nad perfect fit. But the sandals and the Vousma was too narrow, the small toe is squished. What would be our best try for winter shoes? Again we want similarly ultra minimalistic. I was thinking between Tikki, Beda, Fare bare, Jonap and Zeazoo Yeti in wide. Could you compare them, also in respect of which of these is the most barefoot? It would be huge help!

I recommend you to measure his foot properly. Measure the length and the width of his feet and compare the measurements to the measurements of the shoes on different online shops (like Sojka Shop). All those brands have thin and flexible sole. Maybe they are not as ligtha s Luosma, but still very good.

Regarding most barefoot question. I think all those are good barefoot options. All of them have good barefoot characteristics. I haven’t seen in real life only Fare Bare shoes.
